10 Favorite Movies to Quote
In no particular order
The Big Lebowski - My brothers and I quote this one all the time.. "Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."
Caddyshack - You can't go golfing with my friends and I if you don't know the entire script to this movie. "I hear this place is restricted, Wang, so don't tell 'em you're Jewish, okay?"
Trading Places - Probably the best movie either Dan Ackroyd or Eddie Murphy ever did. "I had the most absurd nightmare. I was poor and no one liked me. I lost my job, I lost my house, Penelope hated me and it was all because of this terrible, awful Negro."
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy - This one gets funnier every time I see it. "You're so wise. You're like a miniature Buddha, covered in hair."
This is Spinal Tap - A classic for anyone who was ever in a band. "May I start by saying how thrilled we are to have you here. We are such fans of your music and all of your records. I'm not speaking of yours personally, but the whole genre of the rock and roll."
Best in Show - This is probably my favorite of the Christopher Guest flicks.. "He went for her like she was made out of ham!"
The Princess Bride - I haven't seen this one is a long time, yet the lines are still memorable and quotable.. "You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!"
The Godfather - Any guy who doesn't know this movie by heart is highly suspect in my book.. "Leave the gun...... Take the cannolis.."
A Bronx Tale - I wish I had the money to go see Chazz Palminteri perform this a few weeks ago.. Would have been awesome... "We've been mushed!"
Any Marx Brothers movie - I couldn't pick just one. Any one of their films is chock full of great quotes. Groucho was an amazing writer. "You know, you two girls have everything. You're tall and short and slim and stout and blond and brunette. And that's just the kind of a girl I crave."
