How am I feeling, inside?: hungry
What I'm grooving to right now: Prodigy - Spitfire (Juliette Lewis rocks!)
10 Political Figures, and What You Think of Them

1) President Bush - Foreign policy wise, the worst President ever. Sure, he seems like he'd be a great guy to have a beer with, but so is my buddy Wayne, and I wouldn't want him in charge of our future.

2) Senator Barack Obama - He seemed like a refreshing change from the usual politician, but I'm starting to wonder if he's the same product, just in a fresh new exciting wrapper.

3) Senator Hillary Clinton - Can't look at Hillary without picturing that famous Spy Magazine cover.

4) Prime Minister Tony Blair - Whatever good vibes he built up after sweeping his party into power have been lost by aligning himself with George W.

5) Mayor Richard Daley - It's amazing to me. Every project this guy does comes is so far over budget and behind schedule. His city budget is jaw droppingly bad. His language skills even worse so. His administration is beyond corrupt. Yet every time he comes up for re-election, he wins by a landslide.

6) Senator Ted Stevens - I love this crazy old coot. He's always good for some laughs. When the senate tried to take money away from his district, he raised a fit resembling a petulant child.

6) Senator Jim Webb - This is a stand up guy I can respect. Too bad he's not from Illinois.

7) Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki - A puppet.

8) Rudy Guiliani - I don't understand the love for this guy. Everyone loves him for being the Mayor on 9/11. He was also the mayor after it was attacked in 1993. http://www.amazon.com/Grand-Illusion-Untold-Story-Giuliani/dp/0060536608 Here's a great book about what Rudy didn't do after 1993. A story that needs to be told.

9) Al Gore - This is a guy the republicans and those on the right in this country are terrified of. They won't admit it. They'll just try to mock him at every opportunity to try and change public opinion. Back in 2000, Al Gore was the peoples choice to be President. And that was when he was seen as kind of wooden and stiff. He's much more charismatic and popular now. He would be a formidable opponent if he entered the race. (I don't think he will. He can do much more for his global warming cause being outside of Washington politics. Change public opinion, and the Govt will eventually have to follow)

10) Congressman Ron Paul - If he was to get the Republican nomination (which he never will. Too anti-war), he would probably get my vote. I don't agree with him on some issues, like abortion, but I'd love someone who thinks the income tax system is screwed up and should be abolished, and was for very, very limited Govt. Return the power to the states.

I LOVE your new icon. Oh, my god. The wink!

I can't help to think they are all criminals.

I can't explain it, but Dickie Daley does something for me, the whining bastard. I know he's as crooked as they come, but it's all good. He's just doing what's best for his city. And it IS his city, make no mistake about it.

He has put Chicago on the map for tourism, prettied up this working class city, and has brought the arts and architecture selling point to the fore. he wants to clean us up a bit. We're not all unskilled laborers and mob bosses, and the world should know that, you know? I hope he pushes to further make this fine fine city of Chi-CAH-go a green city! I respect a guy that comes from the "dis, dat, an' dere" sout' side and becomes a formidable political figure who knows enough to nod to the artsy fartsy aspect of the city of big shoulders, hog butcher to the world (I know NY and Cali don't hold much respect for Chicago, but that's because they act upon a dated misconception. We're not the anonymous "stop-over" they think we are). Not bad for a south side guy, you know?

Plus, you know, being the son of HIZZONER can't hurt...

I totally agree. I don't dislike the guy at all. It's just amusing that he seems so untouchable. No matter what scandal breaks, he just walks out of it unscathed and more popular then ever. A total enigma. Despite mentioning the budget and time overages on his projects, I absolutely love the results. Millennium Park? It's awesome. A great place to hang out. The new Soldier Field might look weird on the outside, but I dare anyone to tell me with a straight face that they'd prefer to see a game at the old field. Inside, it's an amazing place to watch a football game. And if we get the olympics? I bet they will be pulled off in an amazing fashion. (though way over budget)

We have a lot of the same people on the list! I'm not familiar with some of the folks on your list, from a different part of country. Mine are up here

I dropped into your LJ after seeing you post in [info]madame_urushiol's. I can't tell you how glad I am to see Ron Paul on your list. Like you, I don't agree with his abortion stance, but I do think he's probably the best hope for our government. Did you notice he led the MSNBC viewer poll after the debate, but they still don't seem to want to talk about him? Crazy.
